Jennifer Elkins

Jennifer Elkins has worked for Barrett Financial Services for more than a decade, recently becoming a company co-owner. Working alongside Warren Barrett and his father, Wes Barrett, before his passing, she has gained tremendous knowledge about the financial services industry.

When Jennifer joined the firm initially as office manager, Wes insisted she obtain her insurance license in California so she could help people in a significant way. She worked hard to follow in his footsteps, and works closely with Warren to run the company now. Jennifer says, “Warren and I are definitely 50/50. We are very different people, but it works. I’m so grateful for both him and his father. They changed my life.”

Prior to joining Barrett Financial Services, Jennifer was a general manager for a popular restaurant. She was a natural at organizing, finding efficiencies, maximizing resources and everything else it took to be successful in a demanding profession. Most importantly, she loved working with and helping people. She transferred all of those talents and skills to Barrett Financial Services, streamlining paperwork and processes while staying in close contact with clients.

“People are very important to me personally, and they are important to our firm,” she says. “Clients know they can rely on me to get back to them right away, and they can talk with me about anything. That will never change. I love building relationships, and customer service has always been paramount to me.” Jennifer spends her time helping people prepare for retirement, pay for college, build wealth and reach any financial goal that is important to them.

Born and raised in San Diego, Jennifer entered food service management soon after high school. She left that industry in part to create a better life for herself and her family. “Running a restaurant involves very long hours, dedication and a strong work ethic. I bring all of that focus to Barrett Financial Services’ clients, working to help each person achieve their financial goals. I love what I do!”

When she’s not working, Jennifer goes camping at least once a month with her “best friend” and husband of more than 30 years and their dog. The couple has two children, 18 and 21, both are in college. “I’m so proud of them. One is studying neuropsychology and the other is studying mechanical engineering.” Jennifer also enjoys watching college and professional sports.
